Today 5th graders were geologists measuring the boundaries of the playground blacktop. Early surveyors had to measure boundaries using a 33ft long chain. We used a 33ft long string for our measurements. Students decided that this would have been a very hard, boring job if they had to measure the boundaries of an entire colony. Especially if it was cold outside!

Competitive Cheer is headed to compete in the State Finals today! Hopefully you'll be making your way to the campus of Central Michigan University and into the McGuirk Arena at 2:00PM to cheer these ladies on as they compete for a STATE TITLE! Nothing better than communities showing up and supporting student-athletes as they compete at the highest levels of high school athletics. Hopefully the athletes will see and hear you in the stands supporting them. Good luck ladies!

We had a special guest reader in the music room today. Ms. Long shared her story, a few treats, and even a pet mouse to go along with their story.

Over the last several months, students from Mrs. Fleischer’s Character Development class have been actively engaged in service learning activities designed to benefit others, strengthen our community and have a positive impact on our school. Our students have spent time in the elementary reading to our younger Ashley Bears, making treats for the birds to entertain residents at the Ashley Healthcare Center in town and showing appreciation to our school's custodial staff by making them pizzas and breadsticks. Our seventh graders have been building their moral character through intentional acts of giving, sharing, and teaching, along with developing an understanding of how those acts are often reciprocated. This reciprocation was demonstrated when our custodial staff returned the favor with some welcome treats for all of their efforts!
